Our book discussion pick for this month: The Last Safe Place on Earth- Richard Peck

**** 4 stars

This book, though not the newest book on the shelves, was very interesting. It questioned the idea of just how safe a suburban town is, for example, whether it is safe to trust someone in your home to watch over your children. It also questions the idea of utopia, whether there is such a town or a place on earth. It shows that though on the surface there is nothing wrong, after you observe for a while, you notice the cracks and imperfections in people and things, realizing the impossibility of utopia. -- Gemma Doyle
